Christie is the Social Media Public Information Officer for the Florida Department of Health (DOH), where she carries out versatile press, marketing, crisis communications and multimedia objectives for the agency’s Office of Communications.
Christie is the primary social media liaison for the agency, where she helped create and implement the social media proposals and guidelines and now manages the Department’s recently launched Facebook and Twitter accounts. She is enjoying learning about the multiple facets of public health and continues to explore new communication strategies and opportunities for DOH’s future in social media.
Prior to her employment at DOH, Christie worked for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) press office and received a Bachelor of Science in Media and Communication Studies from Florida State University.
